Everyday science : is it right or does it work ?

That human beings have developed theory-like cognitive structures that provide systematic ways of interpreting and acting in the world has been recognized for many years by anthropologists and psychologists. An interesting issue, and one which is addressed in this series of articles, is how such theory-like structures which characterize everyday science develop.
