Method and apparatus for producing paraffin

Disclosed is method of manufacturing paraffin by a reduction reaction between olefin in a gas-phase state and hydrogen with a reduction catalyst. In this method, a plurality of catalyst slots (3) and (4) filled with the abovementioned reduction catalyst are serially arranged along main flow ways (21), (24) and (26) along which the hydrogen flows. The olefin is added to the main flow ways (21), (24) in batches in a way that the molar quantity of hydrogen in guide gas (G1) and (G3) in the abovementioned catalyst slots (3) and (4) is larger than the molar quantity of the olefin.
