The invention discloses a method for preparing a Bi-doped glass material with mid-infrared luminescence. The method comprises the following steps: preparing Bi-doped glass by adopting a melting method, performing heat treatment on internal temperature points in a temperature range from Tg-100 DEG C to Tg+200 DEG C for 0.5-5 hours, determining a heat treatment process with optimal mid-infrared luminescence according to the spectrum test result, and preparing the Bi-doped glass material with mid-infrared luminescence under the heat treatment temperature and time. According to the invention, the glass material with mid-infrared luminescence is obtained through a heat treatment method, the operation is simple and efficient, and the production cost is low; the glass material can be used for preparing glass optical fibers with mid-infrared luminescence and is further expected to develop a mid-infrared optical fiber laser.
