I PODZOLI DELLA VALLE CAMONICA(ALPI MERIDIONALI BRESCIANE)

The podzols of Val Camonica(Southern Alps of Brescia).On the basis of the morphologi- cal observations and laboratory analyses,some soil profiles of Val Camonica which show a podzolic-type evolution,are described and classified according to taxonomic criteria.The lithological material affected by podzolisation both belong to the post-Wurmian moraine and debris covers and to the alpine crystalli- ne,to the Adamello Tertiary intrusive rocks and to the Permian-Carboniferous sandstones and conglome- rates.The criteria of identification of the diagnostic horizons are discussed in detail.Some aspects of the evolutive relationships between soils,topography,vegetation and climate are also considered.
