Circular dichroism and energy transfer process in the luminescence of the optical active complex: Tb(L-AIPDA)·4H2O

1981
Abstract Energy transfer-induced circularly polarized luminescence is observed in the optical active lanthanide complexes: Tb 3+ x Ln 3+ 1-x (L-AIPDA)·4H 2 O with Ln 3+ = Dy 3+ and Ho 3+ . The optical activity of Tb 3+ ion reveals a pure vicinal effect of the ligand. The circular polarization of luminescence and energy transfer process are discussed in terms of luminescence total dissymmetry factor G and lifetimes.
