Application Research of Clustering Algorithm Based on K-Means in Data Mining

With the development of information technology, big data related to education, transportation and medical emerge in endlessly. How to dig out the contained and useful knowledge and information from the big data is a subject of worthing. Combined with the current development of big data. This paper discussed the significance and the common methods of data mining, studied the function of clustering in data mining analyzed the characteristics, basic ideas and execution process of the clustering algorithm based on k-means. Then with the help of data mining platform based on SPSS Modeler and clustering algorithm based on K-means, this paper mines and analyzes the survey data on teaching satisfaction. The survey covered 1, 369 students from 16 campuses, 58 learning centers of the Open University of China. The analysis process is fast, efficient and logical. The analysis results are accurate. It provides a reliable and valuable reference basis for taking effective measures to improve the teaching strategy and the teaching design.
