A photovoltaic device, comprising: a substrate; a first electrode on the substrate; a first semiconducting layer having zinc phthalocyanine as a first metal phthalocyanine; a second semiconducting layer of indium chloride of the following formula has as a second metal phthalocyanine and an electron acceptor, wherein having the first and second metal phthalocyanine different weights; an electron transporting layer; and a second electrode; wherein the second semi-conductive layer between the first semiconductor layer and the electron-transporting layer, wherein the first semi-conductive layer is spatially closer to the first electrode than the second semi-conductive layer; and wherein the electron-transporting layer between the second semi-conductive layer and the second electrode is located.
