Expression of ricin chain a polypeptide

PURPOSE: To obtain a recombinant DAN molecule containing a DNA sequence coding for the precursor polypeptides of the chains A and B of a ricin type phygtotoxin or at least a portion of the precursor polypeptide of the chain A or B of the ricin type phytotoxin, and further to provide a genetically modified host microorganism containing the recombinant DNA molecule. CONSTITUTION: This method for expressing a ricin chain A polypeptide comprises transducing a DNA coding for at least an effective portion of the ricin chain A into a cloning vector to bind to an expression control sequence so as to effectively act, transforming a host cell with the recombinant DNA molecule and subsequently culturing the transformed host cell.
