Research development status and problems of metal arched corrugated roof

Metal arched corrugated roof(MACR) possesses the advantages of light weight,big interior space,beautifull shape,quick in construction,waterproof performance,and set by power-in-one maintenance.It was introduced to China in 1992 through the introduction of the equipments from United States,and was widely used in China.However,the mechanical behaviors,failure mechanisms and failure modes of the structure are complex and engineers are not fully aware of them without unified computing model,calculation methods and analysis.Although there are metal arch corrugated roof structure technical regulations and the calculation software confirmed by the state,calculation form was not provided for the designers.The practical application is hindered to a certain extent.Especially in recent years,some engineering accident happened and the development of this structure is seriously hindered.In this paper,the current state of research and development,the actual application and problems of both domestic and foreign MACR have been introduced,and the theory of the structure in future research and the recommendations of practical application are put forward.
