One neutron pickup reactions in the [sup 32]S+[sup 144]Sm and [sup 32]S+[sup 166]Er systems at energies close to the Coulomb barrier

One neutron transfer cross sections in the systems [sup 32]S+[sup 144]Sm and [sup 32]S+ [sup 166]Er have been measured at energies close to the Coulomb barrier. Mass and charge identification was achieved using characteristic x rays. Transfer probabilities were analyzed by considering barrier penetration mechanisms. Possible enhancement effects due to permanent quadrupole deformations are investigated and compared with the experimental results.
