Maneuver Target Tracking Based on Road Information

Tracking of small maneuver target running on the road is difficult due to high target density,high clutter and high maneuverability.In this paper,a method by using road information is proposed to enhance the tracking performance of small maneuver target.In this method,an estimator named as variable structure interacting multiple model(VS-IMM) estimator is presented by contrasting the road structure and the track's prediction position to modify the number and structures of the models,and the track management strategies are expanded by ascertaining whether the directions of the tracks are in accordance with the road.The simulation results show that not only the track's accuracy of small maneuver target is improved by this method when comparing with the traditional one,but also the track detection probability is improved.In addition,both the number and average life of the false tracks are reduced in the surveillance region.
