Coordination compounds of transition-metal nitrates with formamide MII(NO3)2 . 2(HCONH2) . 2H2O (MII = Cu, Cd, Co, Mn)

2004
The compounds M I I (NO 3 ) 2 . 2(HCONH 2 ) . 2H 2 O, where M I I = Cu (I), Cd (II), Co (III), and Mn (IV), were synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. For the two latter compounds, only the unit cell parameters and space group were determined. The crystals of the compounds are isostructural, orthorhombic, space group P2(1)2(1)2(1); Z = 4; MoK α radiation; for I, a = 7.013(6) A, b = 7.966(3) A, c = 17.574(5) A, V = 981.8(9) A 3 , ρ c a l c = 2.122 g/cm 3 ; for II, a = 7.446(1) A, b = 8.252(1) A, c = 17.542(2) A, V = 1077.8(2) A 3 , ρ c a l c = 2.222 g/cm 3 ; for III, a = 7.196(1) A, b = 7.976(1) A, c = 17.422(5) A, V = 1000.0(3) A 3 ; for IV, a = 7.342(2) A, b = 8.102(2) A, c = 17.549(4) A, V = 1044.0(4) A 3 . The compounds are promising stimulators for plant growth.
