Lasers in Tooth Bleaching

White teeth usually accompany with health, beauty, success and happiness. Tooth bleaching is a cost-effective unaggressive dental treatment with a history of more than a century and nowadays with increasing demands for esthetic dentistry; has been got a lot of attention among the dentists and the patients. There are so many problems can create tooth discolorations and correct diagnosis of the ethiology is the most important step of the treatment. Peroxides are the main bleaching agents of almost all systems. On the first decades of 20th century in-office vital bleaching basically was conducted by using heat and light for more peroxide activation. Today a variety of light sources like Plasma arc lamps, halogen lamps, LEDs and recently LASER is used for bleaching purposes. Using LASER for tooth bleaching dates back to the last decade so there is a long way to reach the final goal of well- documented clear way of treatment; nevertheless of lots of publications in this field. Recently using some additives as absorbent is the matter of debate; such absorbents would improve the result of bleaching treatments significantly with more absorption of heat and light to the bleaching material. In the following article the most recent findings regarding the dental bleaching treatments will be more discussed
