Deuteration effects in chlorine-doped CdTe

Abstract CdTe crystals doped with chlorine in the melt or by implantation were deuterated by means of annealing under D 2 gas or deuteron implantation. Capacitance measurements show a small change in chlorine donor activity but a strong passivation of a deep electron trap. Photoluminescence studies reveal a complex interaction of D with a Cl-related damage induced acceptor.
