Cyanide-resistant alternative pathway was involved in the compatible interaction between potato tuber (Salonum tuberosum L.) and soft rot bacteria (Erwinia carotovora pv.Carotovora)

2000
In the compatible interaction between potato tuber ( Salonum tuberosum L.) and soft rot bacteria ( Erwinia carotovora pv. Carotovora ),more intense is the pathogen pathogenecity, more strong is the operation of cyanide resistant alternative pathway in the tuber,in contract,SHAM,which is the special inhibitor of cyanide resistant alternative pathway, inhibited host susceptibility in the compatible interaction. These results showed that cyanide resistant alternative pathway is involved in the compatible interaction.Signal transduction also is studied and the results showed that the process which cyanide resistant alternative pathway is involved in the compatible interaction was regulated by Ca 2+ ,G protein, phosphoinositide cycle steps, phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins by kinases and phosphatasesand. Therefore, resistance and susceptibility in plant host can be regulated partly by operation of cyanide resistant alternative pathway in compatible interaction between plant host and pathogen.
