Therapy Using a New Remote-Controlled High-Intensity Afterloading Device

The AECL Brachytron 60CO remote-controlled high-intensity afterloader is described, and radical and palliative treatment of 42 patien ts is reviewed. The 9 and 1 Ci sources of this unit have separate point and oscillating capabilities. The unit is easy to use, and treatment is tolerated well. Its use in external treatment should result in newconcepts in intracavitary therapy.
