A Traffic Resistance Model of Long-Distance Travel

2007
The model of long-distance-travel uses a modal split calculation following Kirchhoffs law, while decomposing the travel chain into resistance components. Those resistance components are weighted according to the subjective responses by travellers. Travel demand and mode choice are derived from the travel supply and human behavioural patterns. Since the model dispenses with project-specific calibrations, it is well suited to predict and calculate longdistance travel.
