A method of assembling at least two parts whose surfaces to be assembled are silicon carbide by refractory brazing, comprising the following successive steps: - contacting the faces to be assembled of silicon carbide with a brazing composition, said composition solder being a binary alloy Si-Y comprising 24% by mass to 40% by mass of silicon and 76% by mass to 60% by weight of yttrium, - melting the brazing composition by heating at a higher brazing temperature to melting temperature of the binary alloy Si-Y to form a refractory braze joint.
