Integrated production database in Unocal Indonesia

In the late 1960's, Unocal Indonesia signed a production-sharing contract with Pertamina, Indonesia's national oil company. Unocal Indonesia operates 11 producing oil and gas fields offshore east Kalimantan. Each day, a wealth of data related directly or indirectly to the volume of hydrocarbon production is collected at various points of oilfield operations. Until recently, a suite of four separate computer systems managed the production data. A geological/geophysical data man-agement system was integrated with a production-data management system to improve productivity.
