Microwave band FSS in optically transparent conducting layers: Performance of ring element arrays

FSS consisting of arrays of single rings have been etched onto optically transparent, but microwave reflecting layers deposited on thin supporting substrates. The transmission performance is compared with that of arrays of metallic elements with the same dimensions.
