Reducing CO2 Emissions by Optimizing Traffic through Synergy in ITS

2012
This paper discusses the architecture of the European Integrated Project eCoMove (FP7), which aims to achieve a 20% reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by optimizing traffic from both the individual as well as the group perspective. By cooperating and the exchange of data (V2V, V2I & I2I), both the drivers and the traffic systems can reduce energy consumption more than on their own. The eCoMove platform enables this cooperative data exchange in such a way that eCoMove application can easily use it to realize a reduction of CO2 emissions.
