The Power Quality Indices influence on the Economics and the Energy Efficiency of industrial end-users

As proven by previous works [1] - [3], [7], Power Quality is strongly linked to the global Energy Performance and, implicitly, to the overall Economic Efficiency of any given energy boundary. In this paper, authors will analyse, and present results obtained by implementing a Current Total Harmonic Distortion mitigation solution in an atypical sub-energy boundary belonging to an industrial end-user. The forecasted Technic and Economic viability will be analysed and presented, showing that improving Power Quality Indices leads to an optimization of the Energy Performance Indicators and, ultimately, to a sensible improvement of the Economic Efficiency of the process.
