The partial molar volumes of rare gases in aqueous solutions

A correlation equation for calculating the limiting partial molar volumes of rare gases in aqueous solutions, which includes the contribution of the electronic polarizability of solute molecules caused by their interaction with a uniform force field of the solvent, was suggested. The conclusion that there is an interrelation between the volume properties and the mechanism of solution (hydration) of rare gases in water was drawn.
