PARENS PATRIAE ACTIONS: AN ASSESSMENT

My topic involves a discussion of parens patriae legislation and litigation in the antitrust area. Neither time nor your interest, I suspect will permit a detailed, historical treatment of the role of state attorneys general in parens litigation. However, a very brief review of the legislative history of parens patriae may be appropriate to serve as a basis for assessing parens litigation over the past four years.
