Syntheses, structures and properties of dihydroxypermethylcyclosilanes and permethyloxahexasilanorbornanes

Abstract The separation of 1,3- and 1,4-dichlorodecamethylcyclohexasilanes and the isolation of 1-chloro-3-(chlorodimethylsily)octamethyl-cyclopentasilane through their hydrolysis products are shown. A crystal structure determined by X-ray diffraction of a single crystal containing decamethyl-7-oxahexasilanorbornane and 1,4-dihydroxydecamethylcyclohexasilane is discussed.
