Eric Ambler (1909–1998), 1935: The Dark Frontier

Eric Clifford Ambler was an influential author of spy novels noted for bringing a new level of realism to the genre and for pioneering the sophisticated political thriller that would be further developed by authors such as Len Deighton and John le Carre. Ambler’s first five novels are considered classics of the spy genre.
