The Progress of Prolific Trait Genes in Small Tail Han Sheep

Genetic effects on FecB gene mutation, BMPR-IB gene mutation, BMP15 gene mutation and ESR gene mutation of Small Tail Han Sheep were reviewed in this article in detail. The markers assisted with FecB gene all correlated with prolific trait of Small Tail Han Sheep; BMPR-IB gene was one of the major genes effecting high prolificacy of Small Tail Han Sheep and was able to select markers; The mutation of BMP15 gene had no significant effect on prolificacy of Small Tail Han Sheep; ESR gene was probably one of the major genes controlling prolific trait. The aim of this review is to provide reference for the study of Small Tail Han Sheep.
