Microfluidics in organic chemistry

2021
Abstract Over the past decades, the study of organic reactions consist of the synthesis of significant products such as natural materials, drugs, and polymers, and the investigation of individual organic molecules in microfluidic systems have emerged as an ideal route to solve critical issues in ample aspects, containing organic chemistry and industry. This novel technology, which has developed via performing reaction under continuous flow conditions instead of conventional batch chemistry, as a basic tool for chemical synthesis has created new promising horizons and new opportunities in many areas of research and it is growing rapidly, especially in the industry. In conventional vessels, the limitations of using chemical synthesis are vigorous stirring of reaction mixtures, the presence of by-product, unstable intermediates, and so on.
