Tradiciones poéticas y paradigmas métricos en la edad media castellana

2020
A metrical analysis of medieval poetic texts written in Castilian Spanish still poses problems. In his research, Federick Hanssen developed an hypothesis for the mester de clerecia, a poetic school known for its scholarship and written form, that has been accepted in general by scholars, but syllabic computation of other poems requires the application of so many exceptions to the norm that the validity of the hypothesis itself is under scrutiny. In this article we analyze several poems of the Cancionero de Baena, and two other poems recently discovered in Las Huelgas Monastery whose syllabic count becomes regularized if we apply currently accepted rules present in the Galician-Portuguese school.
