Parameters of supercompressed detonation for nitromethane and a solution of nitromethane with bromoform

1986
The temperatures of detonation products and shock fronts in indicator liquids were measured by means of an electron-optical device at two wavelengths (420 and 750 nm). In order to receive emissions use was made of photoelectron multipliers. Indicator liquids used in the work were CCl/sub 4/, hexane and toluol, with vessels of copper and aluminum alloy. It is shown that introduction of bromoform into nitromethane leads to a drop in detonation velocity and to a reduction in detonation product temperature. The results of the work shows that the temperature of the supercompressed detonation products is connected with pressure.
