Applications of respiration navigator echo and abdominal bandage compression in liver MRI

2009
Objective To investigate the clinical application of Respiration Navigator Echo and abdominal bandage compression technique in liver MRI. Methods Respiratory gated T2WI/SPIR of liver MRI followed by combined Respiration Navigator Echo and abdominal bandage compression with same parameters were performed in 40 patients. The scan time and contrast resolution of images with and without Respiration Navigator Echo and abdominal bandage compression were measured. Results After applying Respiration Navigator Echo and abdominal bandage compression technique , the scan time of T2WI/SPIR in liver imaging decreased 20%, Meanwhile, the SNR of Respiration Navigator Echo and abdominal bandage compression technique is significantly higher than the T2WI/SPIR(P0.01),CNR almost kept the same as that on T2WI/SPIR sequences (P0.05). Conclusion T2WI/SPIR of liver MRI followed by combined Respiration Navigator Echo and abdominal bandage compression can shorten scan time and keep the high image quality, which could be routine technique in Liver MRI scan.
