Real Time Collaborative Processing for Event Detection and Monitoring for Disaster Management in IoT Environment

Disasters occurs in any form such as drought, earthquakes, cyclones which are natural disasters or fire breakouts, harmful gas emissions, etc. which are man made. Disaster Management is a prevalent issue and the IT section lacks in providing proper aid to this problem. There are various phases of Disaster Management and the primary aim of this paper is to help with the mitigation and response phase in Disaster Management. In this paper we propose an approach for quick response from the disaster relief centers in case of a disaster without manual call for help in real time dynamic monitoring and analysis of the environment of a disaster prone area using Internet of Things (IoT). In our system, in case of abnormal situation, based on real time data acquisition, monitoring and event detection is performed automatically. As part of response or relief work an optimal route is generated connecting the nearest relief site like fire station, hospital etc. to the disaster site.
