Inflammatory bowel disease: value in diagnosis and management of MDCT-enteroclysis and 99mTc-HMPAO labeled leukocyte scintigraphy

Objectives The aims of this study are: (a) to evaluate the reliability of Multidetector Computed Tomography Enteroclysis (MDCT-E) and 99mTc-HMPAO labeled leukocyte scintigraphy (TLLS), in inflammatory bowel disease, (b) to test the accuracy of the two techniques with regard to their histological results, (c) to define how each technique can influence the natural course of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), (d) to assess the potential value of the two techniques combined.
