Automated Cyst Detection in Cross-Sectional CT Images of the Maxillofacial Region

A method for automatic recognition of cysts on X-ray image of the jawbone section is described. A statistical study was performed to determine the criterion for the presence of cysts within the bone, and an algorithm for detection of cysts on X-ray images was developed.
