A Relation between Stability of the Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) Complexes of 3-and 4-Methylpyridines in Solution and Extractability of These Complexes

Abstract The extraction of the 3- and 4-methylpyridine complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) with oxygen-containing solvents has been studied. A correlation has been found between stepwise formation of the complexes and the extent of extraction. The composition of extractable species has been determined.
