The present invention relates to novel intermediate compounds which preferably comprise derivatives of 2,2-difluoro-3-hydroxy-3- (2,2-dialkyldioxolan-4-yl) alkyl propionate and 3-substituted derivatives 2-deoxy-2,2-difluoro-1-oxo-D-ribose substituted in 3 and 5. the present invention also provides processes for producing such intermediate compounds and gemcitabine production processes therewith.
