RELATIONSHIP OF EMPLOYEES' LIFESTYLE AND HEALTH STATUS

1989
To identify the life style pattern and its relation to physical, mental, and social health status, a questionnaire was applied to 1535 employees in 4 companies. A multi-variate analysis system, Hayashi's Quantification Method III, revealed that the life style could be classified into five types, i. e. clean, black, normal, healthy, and wild types. The maximum latent root obtained from the analysis system was 0.19, and then the second one was 0.14. Based on sample score obtained by each subject, individual's life style was also classified to five types. According to ridit analysis, people classified as health type or wild type had a significantly high health status. On the other hand, people who were as black type or clean type indicated a bad health status.
