33.3: Characterization of Optical Performance for TFT-LCD with Advanced Over-Drive Technology (AOT)

In our previous paper, we proposed an advanced over-drive technology (AOT) to improve the moving picture response time (MPRT) for TN type TFT-LCD. However, the sacrifice of the brightness is lager due to the black data resetting. Here we have demonstrated a modified AOT by adopting gray-data-resetting (GDR) as well as a faster RT cell. In such a case, the brightness can increase up to 20% comparable to our old system. Both the experimental & simulation results will be presented.
