SILICON PULSE CHAMBER FOR MEASUREMENTS OF X AND GAMMA DOSE RATE.

1971
Abstract A possibility of improving the energy response of the X and gamma dosemeter with a silicon detertor by integrating charges and not only the number of individual pulses, has been investigated. This energy response depends strongly upon the value of the discrimination level E d . The best results have been obtained for the discrimination level E d = 25 keV and with the 0.8 mm thick Cu corrective filter. In this case the energy response is constant within ±5% for E γ ⩾ 180 keV and within ±30% for 55 keV ⩽ E γ E d = 50 keV the energy response is constant within ±7% for E γ ⩾ 280 keV. The dose rate sensitivity in case of the detector active volume of 36 mm 3 may be ranged between 1 mR/h and 20 R/h f.s.d.
