Applications of amorphous soft magnetic materials for magnetic screening of laboratory instruments and devices

Abstract This paper presents measurements of the screening coefficient tests made on samples of screens manufactured from amorphous soft magnetic materials and from the conventional crystalline materials. The measurements were made at various frequencies and intensities of the spurious magnetic fields. The results are compared qualitatively with values of the screening coefficient calculated from the measured permeability and with data from the literature.
