Alkoxy-Derived KTiOPO4 (KTP) Fibers.

Crack-free and dense KTiOPO4 (KTP) fibers could be successfully synthesized through metallo-organics. A homogeneous, drawable KTP precursor solution was prepared from the reaction of (nBuO)2P(O)(OH), Ti(OEt)4, and KOEt. KTP precursor fibers crystallized to a single-phase KTP at 650°C for 0.5 h. KTP fibers were a few centimeters in length and 10–150 μm in diameter. The density of the KTP fibers was higher than 2.97 g/cm3 (>98% of theoretical density).
