A LINGUAGEM TRAZ NELA MESMA A FONTE DE SUA SIGNIFICAÇÃO

2006
This paper intends to establish a parallelism between Maurice Merleau-Ponty’ and Donald Davidson’s philosophies, based upon the criticism they both elaborate of the word/meaning separation, common to empiricist and rationalist traditions. Despite their apparent antagonistic starting points, and their obvious different styles of thinking, great affinities can be seen in the attacks these two authors make to the scheme/experience dichotomy, present in the “metaphysics of representation” as a whole.
