Effect of Aging on Wear and Corrosion Resistance of FeMnSiCrNiTiC Alloy

2011
The effects of direct-aging and strain-aging on the precipitation behavior of second-phase,wear resistance and corrosion resistance were studied in a Fe14.51Mn6.02Si9.10Cr5.06Ni1.49Ti0.16C alloy. The results show that the wear resistance of solid-solution treated alloys was better than that of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel. The wear resistance of alloy could be improved by direct-aging and strain-aging,the latter was better, especially under the condition of heavy load.Compared with direct-aging,a lot of Cr23C6 phase precipitated in matrix besides σ phase after strain-aging,so corrosion resistance of the alloy became worse in NaCl solution after strain-aging,but unchanged in NaOH solution, and the direct-aging didn′t decreased corrosion resistance of the alloy obviously.
