Placebo Analgesia for Tonic Muscle Pain Correlates with Synchronization of Alpha Oscillation In Humans

Pain induces the suppression (desynchronization) of electroencephalographic oscillation in the alpha frequency band that may serve as an objective measurement of subjective pain perception. The aim of this study is exploring the association between subjective outcome of placebo-induced analgesia and objective measurement of alpha band electroencephalographic oscillation.
