In spite of containing four support reaction forces, a symmetric triple joint arch (circular as well as parabolic) like the one illustrated in Fig. 9.1.a is a statically determinate system, because all reaction forces may be determined from the equilibrium conditions of forces as shown in Fig. 9.1.b.
