Application of Biomaterials in Percutaneous Absorption Enhancement

This chapter presents an overview of some biomaterials that have been investigated for penetration-enhancing activity, including protein transduction domains, non-transduction peptides, chitosans, metabolic modulators, cyclodextrins, and dendrimers. Their application in percutaneous drug delivery, as well as possible mechanisms of enhancement action, will also be discussed.
