Deriving of Soil Guideline Values and Risk Assessment of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons at a Typical Petrochemical-Contaminated Site

2007
The site-specific Soil Guideline Values(SGVs) of several polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) at a typical petrochemical-contaminated site were derived using the Contaminated Land Exposure Assessment(CLEA) model of the United Kingdom and the risks caused by PAHs contamination were assessed. The results showed that the SGVs of naphthalene, anthracene, benzo [a] pyrene, acenaphthene, fluorene and pyrene were 3.57×10~3,6.12×10~7,0.874,6.81×10~4,6.24×10~4 and 5.84×10~6 ng/g,respectively.The measured environmental concentrations(MECs) of naphthalene, anthracene, acenaphthene, fluorene, pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene were measured and the probabilities of MECs exceeding SGVs were calculated. The probabilities of risk for the former 5 PAHs were close to zero, while 0.225 for benzopyrene.Their risks were in the following order: benzo[a]pyrenenaphthalene acenaphthene fluorene pyrene anthracene, which indicated that benzo[a]pyrene was the priority pollutant at the site.
