Colonic Neoplasia: A Late Complication of Ureterosigmoidostomy

The development of tumours adjacent to ure-terosigmoidostomies is brought to attention. The literature on this subject is reviewed. To those previously reported we add three cases with development of cancer in the colon 20, 36 and 40 years after urinary diversion because of bladder extrophy. The need for vigilance concerning obstructive symptoms is stressed and the possibility of regular controls suggested.
