Installation for storing items comprising: a rack for storing items (2) having a plurality of storage units (1) arranged in horizontal rows and vertical columns, where the storage rack of items (2) has a first horizontal end and a second end of the first separate horizontal horizontal end in a horizontal direction; article carriers (3) arranged in horizontal direction for use in storing articles (B) on the shelves for storing items (2), and recovery of articles (B) of said shelves for storing items (2 ); a plurality of movable elements (4) moving in a horizontal direction over a predetermined for transporting articles (B) between the storage units (1) and the article supports (3) travel; transfer means (12), provided in each of the plurality of movable elements (4) to transfer an article (B) between the storage unit (1) or the article carrier (3) and the movable member (4 ); control means (H) for controlling operations of the mobile elements (4) and transfer means (12); wherein a plurality of article carriers (3) are placed closer to the first horizontal end than the second horizontal end of the shelf storage items (2), the plurality of movable elements (4) are adapted to be in positions corresponding to the article supports (3), so that the plurality of movable elements (4) can transfer articles (B) and from the corresponding article supports (3) simultaneously, and that the control means (H) control the horizontal movement of the movable elements (4) and the vertical movements of the transfer means (12) to move the transfer means (12) to position the article transfer to the side of the rack corresponding to each one of the plurality of storage units (1), or to transfer positions storage / retrieval corresponding to the article supports (3), where l os control means (H) further controls transfer operations of the transfer means (12), so that the transfer means (12) to transfer articles (B) and from the storage units (1) and article carriers (3) in the transfer positions of items on the side of the rack (2) and the transfer positions storage / retrieval respectively, and that in response to a command for storing a plurality of articles (B) in different storage units (1) of the shelf (2), the control means (H) perform a simultaneous storage operation multiple, wherein the control means (H) controls horizontal movements of the plurality of movable elements (4), vertical movements of the plurality of transfer means (12) provided in each of the plurality of movable elements (4), and transfer operations the plurality of transfer means (12) for causing the plurality of transfer means (12): a) is in the storage positions / respective recovery; b) receive articles (B) of the respective article supports (3); c) to move to positions article transfer the side corresponding to the storage units (1) shelf in which the articles (B) are to be stored and d) to transfer articles (B) received units storage (1).
