Étude palynologique de quatre espèces d'Apiacées alimentaires et médicinales (Coriandrum sativum L., Eryngium creticum Lam., Foeniculum vulgare Mill., Petroselinum crispum (Mill.) Fuss) au Liban

2011
Abstract In Lebanon, Coriandrum sativum L., Eryngium creticum Lam., Foeniculum vulgare Mill., Petroselinum crispum (Mill.) Fuss are cultivated and gathered for their nutritional and medicinal properties. Fine pollinic morphology was studied for four samples taken out of each of the four species, in order for attempting to highlight distinctive characters in light microscopy and SEM. Main pollinic characters were carried out in order to determine the morphology of pollen grains, tectum stereostructure and their variations (average, minimum, maximum values) in dimensions of the polar axis (P), the equatorial diameter (E) and the rate P/E, which allows a better characterization. Significant morphological differences, between the four species of Apiaceae, in the tectum along the polar and interapertural zones, as well as in the exine thickness, are brought to the fore for the first time and statistically defined.
